The Four Foundations

Förändring believes every transformation project requires these four essential foundations working in unison. While contemporary approaches address fragments of this collection, Förändring delivers the complete composition.

These four foundations create the integrated Förändring solution - enabling a holistic mindset and toolset for your transformations:

  • The Ethical Covenant™

  • The Förändring Architecture™

  • The PA·NDA Strategy™

  • The Adaptic Methodology™

When these foundations are performed in unison, they eliminate the gaps and inconsistencies that can cause traditional transformation failures.

The Ethical Covenant

Förändring believes every transformation project should establish a code of conduct governing how the initiative will operate. This Ethical Covenant is a published commitment to transparent practices, owned and upheld by a designated Covenant Custodian.

Why is this essential? Transformation, like leadership or marketing, can have a dark side. Without clear ethical guidelines, initiatives can create doubt and fear through lack of transparency or questionable treatment of stakeholders.

The Ethical Covenant defines how the organization commits to treating all stakeholders throughout the transformation journey. It serves as a constitution, a clear commitment that guides decisions and sustains trust when challenges arise.

With an Ethical Covenant, everyone involved knows what to expect and how they'll be treated. Without it, uncertainty and distrust can undermine adoption efforts.

The Förändring Architecture

The Förändring Architecture provides the framework for all activities within the transformation journey, from initial concept to final handover. It clearly defines roles and responsibilities for each activity group and establishes the correct sequence of events.

Most importantly, it positions the project authorization decision as the critical midpoint, with pre-decision assessments and post-decision implementation properly sequenced. This eliminates the common mistake of performing readiness assessments after decisions have already been made.

The structure creates clarity about what needs to happen when, preventing wasted effort and missed opportunities.   No more performing out-of-sequence work activities, the structure protects your investment of time, money and energy by ensuring the logical sequencing that actually supports successful outcomes.

The PA·NDA Strategy

PA·NDA stands for the Psyche-Ability · Neutral-Disadvantageous-Advantageous two dimension analysis.  It represents the strategic approach by which organizations and practitioners architect their actions to achieve transformation goals.

Förändring’s PA·NDA strategy focuses on something fundamentally unique: the relationship between the change recipient and the change itself.

The PA·NDA strategy emerges from diagnosing information gathered during the pre-decision phase. It evaluates how the ‘Change Impact Domain’ dimension (where the change hits) – as Psyche or Ability dominant, and the ‘Outcome Valence’ dimension (how the change feels to the recipient) – as Neutral, Disadvantageous, or Advantageous.

These two impact dimensions are vastly different in nature and require completely different responses both individually and collectively. Based on this diagnosis, PA·NDA creates implementation plans tailored to the actual human experience of change rather than generic organizational requirements.

This is how PA·NDA works differently: it architects transformation from the recipient's perspective, not the organization's.

The Adaptic Methodology

The Adaptic Methodology serves as the implementation toolset foundation, built around the core principle: 'plan the work, then work the plan.' It believes that the focus of the transformation must be implementation, and without it, success cannot be achieved.

Adaptic establishes standardizations, categorizations, uniform language, and repeatable processes that ensure consistent, reproducible delivery across different transformation initiatives. This eliminates the variability that can often derail implementation efforts.

The methodology provides the complete bridge from strategy to action. It transforms PACT strategy insights into detailed implementation plans, then delivers those plans through structured, proven processes.

With Adaptic, practitioners have the tools and framework to move confidently from diagnosis through execution, ensuring that strategic insights translate into successful operational outcomes. Adaptic is actionable, not theoretical and guides the practitioner through the implementation in a simple, practical, realistic method.
